SHANNON TAYLOR

Shannon Taylor founded Taylor Law in 2017 after fifteen years of private and government practice to provide clients with superior, yet attainable, legal counsel with a personalized approach.

At Taylor Law, she specializes in helping businesses launch with a solid legal foundation and guiding existing businesses as they grow and develop. She accommodates each client’s unique business model and serves as “outside-in-house-counsel” to businesses on an as-needed basis.

Her services include launching and forming new businesses, equity reorganization, and drafting contracts and agreements that are tailored to the internal operation of each individual business. She represents her clients in contract disputes, employment matters and more.

Shannon’s breadth of legal experience spans practices in business law, criminal law and government affairs across multiple jurisdictions including Washington, DC, South Carolina and Louisiana.

Prior to starting her firm, she served as a Special United States Attorney in the Western District of Virginia and as an attorney with Washington Empowered Against Violence, where she represented under-privileged women in DC’s Superior Court.

Shannon earned her BA from the University of Virginia and her JD from Tulane University School of Law where she directed the non-profit Tulane Legal Assistance Program.  She then clerked for the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s office before joining the Ninth Circuit of South Carolina Solicitor’s Office as an Assistant Solicitor.

She serves on several community boards as well as chairs the DC Bar’s Law Practice Management Committee and is an active member of the DC Volunteer Lawyers Project, fighting for victims and children. She resides in Bethesda, Maryland with her husband, Andrew, their three children and two dogs.
